A petition has been filed with the Bartholomew County Drainage Board to hold a public meeting to declare the lower end of Haw Creek through Columbus as a legal Regulated Drain. The Creek is in horrible condition and placing the Creek under the authority and jurisdiction of the County Drainage Board will be the first of many steps necessary to initiate improve-ments that will reduce the flooding impacts on the adjacent floodplain.
